EMANUELE TULLIO
PhD Student
I am a PhD student at CEU, Vienna since September 2021. Before that, I obtained my MA at the University of Italian Switzerland in Lugano (2021) and my BA at the University of Trento (2019). My main area of research is the philosophy of time broadly construed. I also have interests in philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of value, and philosophy of death. One branch of my research is concerned with the perdurantist account of personhood, with a special focus on problems concerning knowledge, phenomenal consciousness, and ethics. The other branch of my research is concerned with A-theories of time, with a special focus on A-theories that aim at matching the core tenets of spacetime physics. In my PhD dissertation I attempt to develop and defend an A-theory of this sort. Since 2021, I am collaborating with the Centre for the Philosophy of Time and with Giuliano Torrengo (who is generously helping me with my project of developing views which are the opposite of what he himself endorses and believes to be true).
